In one of the Upanishads it says, when the glow of a sunset holds you and you say ‘Aha,’ that is the recognition of the divinity. And when you say ‘Aha’ to an art object, that is a recognition of divinity. And what divinity is it? It is your divinity, which is the only divinity there is. We are all phenomenal manifestations of a divine will to live, and that will and the consciousness of life is one in all of us, and that is what artwork expresses.

—— Joseph Campbell,
The Mythic Dimension: Selected Essays 1959-87
In the course of history, we delve into human relics to select works considered to possess divinity, aiming to discuss the relationships between humanity, nature, and the divine. We examine how the creations of nature embody artistic allure and how the creations of artists perpetuate the timeless theme of ‘divinity.’

The extraordinariness of existence is divinity.

Visual images or sculptural art may one day ascend to the status of new mythological figures. Through perceiving these works, we explore and discover the world: the works simultaneously are Theseus, Oedipus, and Odysseus. Individuals who share our experiences are dispersed across time, finding their place in time within these creations.

As we manifest to the world, where are we, and where will we go?
